About The Martial Fusion

These days the martial arts are changing. While there are more children in the martial arts than adults, there are also relatively few teens. We in the martial arts community have an extraordinary opportunity right now to reach teens through their culture and their music. The Martial Fusion is the vehicle through which we can repopulate our schools with teens and teach them the positive values of the traditional arts: self-discipline, respect, honor, etc.

The Martial Fusion is a vehicle for fitness, forms, weapons, self-defense, mixed martial arts, dance, expression and self-understanding. It is the blending of two similar art forms--martial arts and dance--that both require a great deal of physical coordination. Emphasizing free expression above all else, The Martial Fusion cultivates freedom of movement rather then robotic responses.

However, The Martial Fusion is rooted in traditional martial arts. One can only flow through movements freely when such movements have already been ingrained. Then the individual will achieve the fluid mind that will take them beyond the structure. Ultimately, The Martial Fusion transcends systems and unfolds the physical, mental and spiritual development of the individual. This art becomes a tool, which enables the individual to reach full potential as a human being. It brings out each individual's personal best.

For young adults and teens who are at a time in their lives where self-discipline and conformity are particularly challenging values, The Martial Fusion encourages them to express themselves and their culture while rooting them in traditional movements and values.
